Jackie, Gospel Music Artist and Praise & Worship Leader
Jacquelene "Jackie" Dyles Peters is an inspirational psalmist called to minister emotional healing and love through song. Jackie was born with a natural passion for music. Her debut began at the tender age of three when she performed her first full solo concert standing in front of a mirror, holding her wireless microphone (aka hairbrush) singing her heart out to an imaginary audience.
Although many things have changed since then, one thing remains the same - Jackie still sings her heart out; first, to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then to her audience.
In her new CD/DVD, Jackie Live she pilots us on a spiritual journey that addresses our internal challenges and clearly identifies the need and Source for emotional healing. As a singer and songwriter, Jackie says her music has one purpose, and that purpose is to heal those who are emotionally wounded. "I have come to realize that the only answer to a hurting people is God. Singing the gospel, singing the Word of God, proclaiming His promises that this too shall pass... starts the healing process. I want to be an instrument in the hands of God that will be an avenue to people coming to know God in an intimate way."
The songs on this heart warming CD/DVD collection opens the window to her soul and stands as a personal revelation of Jackie's own journey and ministry of emotional healing. "Although I knew and accepted Christ at an early age, I made some bad choices and decisions, and because of it, I've had some hard falls and disappointments. But after the dust settled and I found my way back home, the Lord has brought me to a place in Him that brings comfort, direction, love, joy, and peace beyond my wildest dreams. I fall at His feet and lay there pouring out my heart and letting Him love on me. I know no answer other than God", proclaims the singer-songwriter.
Songs on Jackie Live speak of her new story. A ballad of adoration, "Who Am I?" humbly expresses her blessings by being worthy of God's love. Jackie considers the track, "You Have Proven Yourself to Me", as her private testimony. In this intimate talk with God, she reflects on her childhood, teenage years, and adult life. Along with a steady beat, she bares her life and her soul in this very personal, touching rendition of her awakening.
That awakening began in her early childhood, which is strongly rooted in gospel music and church. Directing her first adult choir at the age of seven, Jackie remembers standing on a crate so she could be seen. "I have sung and directed choirs all my life. And I am grateful to God for allowing me this platform, there is nothing that I rather do and there is nothing that I have more satisfaction in doing than lifting up the name of Jesus in song."
Inheriting her gift and love for music from her parents, who are now deceased, Jackie says she sees dominant characteristics from both of them in her. "I got my love, compassion and respect for God from my mom, and my energy, zeal and explosion from my dad. A little softness engulfed with a little strength makes me - me."
Through her music, Jackie lets us in on her deeply personal and intimate relationship with our Creator. "I am grateful to God for allowing me this platform through my music, there is nothing that I would rather do and there is nothing that I have more satisfaction in doing than lifting up the name of Jesus in song," says Jackie.
